Some people were miffed when their favourite VJ Rannvijay was replaced by Nikhil Chinapa for the second season of the reality show Splitsvilla. And yes, the general reaction from the audience has been that the former only should have continued once the show went on air. Ask Nikhil if he has received similar reactions and he says, “Honestly, nobody would come to me and say such a thing on my face,” he says. Probe some more and he says, “Rannvijay’s a great host but there is bound to be opposition whenever there is a change in format. It’s actually by the sixth or seventh episode that you can actually gauge audience’s true reaction.” But for Nikhil, it’s the fun that he’s having on the show that matters the most. “That’s the bottomline for me, nothing else matters,” he adds. Hosting, acting, DJing, producing music — Nikhil’s done it all. So how does he manage to strike a balance? “The idea is to not being able to strike a balance,” Nikhil reveals his secret, “That’s what keeps me going. It’s like juggling balls in the air, one of them is always suspended. I like being in the moment, the beauty is in being in constant motion.”
